THE Melbourne Gun Club, located on the outskirts of Lilydale, hosted the Clay Target Shooting competition for the duration of the Games, from March 15 to 26.
Evelyn MP Heather McTaggart, who attended the competition on Sunday, 19 March and presented floral bouquets to the winners, said the venue was a hit with shooting competitors and officials.
Ms McTaggart, a shooting enthusiast and the current Parliamentary Clay Target Shooting champion, said the Melbourne Gun Club deserved high praise for its role in the staging of the Games.
“The first-rate conditions made for a world-class venue,” she said.
