THE Badger Creek Hall Committee of Management is seeking to recruit new members to beef up it’s “tired” ranks.
The committee will hold its triennial meeting on Thursday 22 September and a major focus will be to recruit new people for the running and maintenance of the historic building.
Kathy Cameron, president of the committee, and long-time member Kevin Mason said they have plans for a new toilet block and want people to come on board to help see them through.
They say any other ideas and plans for the hall’s future would be welcome.
Mr Mason said the hall deserves community support.
“It’s a community asset which has served us all well and we as a community really need to support it,” he said.
The understaffed committee currently has only four members, and Ms Cameron described them as “very tired”.
“We need a boost of fresh interest,” she said.
Mr Mason said that “if people are unable to come on to the committee, but have skills in writing submissions for grants, we would certainly appreciate that assistance as well”.
Ms Cameron describes the hall, built in 1924, as a “magnificent, charming, historic building” with a stage and an old-style proscenium.
She said the building has great facilities, including a heated meeting room which is available for hire.
The committee meeting will be at the hall at 358 Badger Creek Road at 8pm.
Phone Ms Cameron for further details on 5962 3639.
