YARRA Valley Travel in Healesville has taken top honours at industry awards held in Melbourne on 7 September.
The company, which opened in Healesville four years ago, was recognised as the top selling office for Victoria and Tasmania for Insight Coach Tours.
Owner and manager Owen Torpy said he and his team, which included number one top sales consultant Doug Madistorov and Susan Jacobs, who was named as the number five best-selling consultant, were thrilled with the award.
Yarra Valley Travel has six staff and was competing for the award against much larger travel companies.
The CEO of Insight Coach Tours worldwide, John Boulding, and the company’s Australian CEO, Lorraine Sharp, attended the Gala Awards Night.
Mr Torpy said the quality of the product offered by Insight Coach Tours and the confidence he and his team have in the product, along with the strong personal following enjoyed by Yarra Valley Travel’s consultants, produced the excellent results which saw the company achieve such outstanding results and win accolades on the night for “a stunning effort”.
“We have a strong preference and allegiance to Insight Coach Tours as a product which stands up well under the scrutiny of enjoyment from the passengers as well as excellent value for money,” he said.
Insight runs tours extensively throughout Europe, parts of Africa, the Middle East, UK, USA and Canada.
While Yarra Valley Travel champions Insight, it also provides a broad range of holiday and travel options.
“We cut our cloth to whatever our clients need and for those who really don’t know what they are after … what we think they may need,” Mr Torpy said.
