WANDIN’s junior footballers brought home two Best and Fairest gongs for the Yarra Valley this year.
The two best mates, although in different age groups, were able to play together in the Under 12 finals for the Dandenong Ranges Football League, with Patrick Bruzzese taking home the best and fairest trophy for the Under 11s and Joel Garner who won the best and fairest by one point for the Under 12s.
Patrick was one of two Under 11s who were put up at the last minute to help Wandin win the Under 12s grand final. For Joel it was back to back wins for his team, and he is keen to get the trifecta next year.
“It’s just really fun and I’ve got some good friends on my team,” he said.
“The best part is that we won the premiership.”
Now that the football season has finished?
“Cricket next,” said Patrick.
Brought out their best
