Camping review

THE latest master plan for Warburton’s Caravan Park shows that 14 sites will be removed from the camping ground, compared to the original 70 sites that were earmarked for removal.
Cabins will also remain on the river bank until they have reached the end of their useful life.
Residents have the chance to view the master plan and speak to those involved at an information session next week.
The plan identified the areas along the riverbank that will undergo revegetation, and shows the 14 sites proposed for removal as part of Department of Sustainability and Environment works to help restore the condition of the Yarra River.
Attendance will include councillor Chris Templer, Yarra Ranges Council capital works and urban planning officer Marilyn Howley, Dan Robertson from Melbourne Water and Kate Maddock for SGL consultants. The informal drop-in session will be held at the Warburton Mechanics Institute Hall on Saturday 15 October from 9.30am to noon.
