UPPER Yarra secondary school students are being invited to submit designs for the cover of a new Warburton Highway telephone directory.
The creator and coordinator of the new Warby Highway Directory, Robbie Schuurman, has put the call out for secondary school students to enter the graphic design competition.
The Warby Highway Directory, a telephone directory for all businesses in the 3139, 3797 and 3799 post codes, will be distributed to households and businesses along the Warburton Highway in June.
Ms Schuurman said she wanted to give local graphic design students an opportunity to showcase their work.
“The design competition will also mean that the new directory will have a cover that is relevant to the area and a cover that exhibits a young person’s view of the region.”
Ms Schuurman, who is offering a $250 cash prize for the winning entry, said design entries could be part of a student’s art portfolio.
She said entries would be judged by two industry professionals and the winner of the competition would be publicised in mid May.
For compulsory formatting, text and program specifications interested students should contact Ms Schuurman on 5962 2779 or email schuurm@acepia.net.au.
Entries for the graphic design competition close at 5pm on Friday, 5 May.
