WARBURTON resident Mary Nichols celebrated her 90th birthday earlier this month at the Warburton Golf Club.
More than 70 family and friends turned up to help Mrs Nichols celebrate the milestone, including 20 of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs Nichols, now a resident of Yarra View Retirement Village, lived in Healesville for more than 50 years.
She moved to Warburton three years ago after her husband of more than 60 years, Jack, passed away.
Mrs Nichols, who was born in Melbourne and spent her early years growing up in Richmond, had five children who were all raised in Healesville.
One of Mrs Nichols’ sons, Val Nichols, a real estate agent in Coldstream and a resident of Seville, said his mother had a very enjoyable 90th birthday.
“Mum was surrounded by all her family and friends. There were four generations there on the day,” he said.
“She loved having everyone around her for a special afternoon tea celebration.”
Mrs Nichols’ daughter-in-law, Eileen Nichols, said her mother-in-law enjoyed living in Warburton and that she was now looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday with family and friends in 2016.
