SHIRE of Yarra Ranges Youth Services is hosting an exciting and varied program of events for the June/July school holidays.
The program of activities includes a snow trip, a DJ workshop, an ice-skating expedition, a rock-climbing excursion, and a comedy club show.
Other exciting activities include break dancing, a trip to the Scienceworks Museum and the Planetarium, an opportunity shop tour, lead lighting, scrap booking, mini golf and music events.
The Winter Chills program, for young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work or study in the shire, runs from Saturday, 17 June to Sunday, 2 July.
All activities on the program have a subsidised low cost or are free, and transport is included, making the events accessible.
Youth Services executive officer Martin Fidler said his team had devised the program in consultation with young people.
“Winter Chills is a fantastic opportunity to meet other young people and have a great time – and because it’s the middle of winter, activities are held indoors – except for the snow outing,” he said.
A Freeza battle of the bands at the Mooroolbark Community Centre on Saturday, 1 July will conclude the jam-packed program.
Most activities require bookings. Your local Community Link office has a full schedule, or you can visit www.yrys.com or call 9294 6716.
