Services add to tradition

THE congregation of the Warburton Presbyterian Church is offering an alternative to the stress of last minute shopping, Christmas sit-coms on the telly and, even the traditional Carols by Candlelight from the Myer Music Bowl.
Shona Archer, wife of the church’s minister, Tony, said the congregation had put together a wonderful program of carols, drama and choir for their Christmas Eve celebration.
A special Christmas Choir has been rehearsing all the favourite carols.
There are two drama pieces – the first looking at how the media of its day may have ‘headlined’ the first two years of Jesus’ life, and the second a multi-media presentation looking at some of the complex issues which arise at Christmas time.
The Christmas Eve celebration starts at 7pm.
Christmas Day will also be a special time to celebrate the birth of Christ.
The children of the congregation will sing and have the opportunity to take part in a craft session where they will make a Christmas mosaic. This starts at 9am.
Shona said the Presbyterian Church congregation at Warburton was looking forward to presenting celebrations of Christmas to all members of the community.
Jesus is the reason for the season, and the Warburton Presbyterian Church is offering an opportunity for everyone to share the true joy and spirituality of Christmas.
