YOUTH Services and What the Funk have lined up a show jampacked with talent as part of the Festival for Healthy Living.
Acoustic Jam will feature Andrew Kitchen from Antiskeptic, Andrew McDonald of Tiltmeter and local act Ash King, and will take place upstairs at Healesville Memorial Hall on Friday, 14 October.
Running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, the free event promises a night of great music from some of the finest solo acts Melbourne has to offer.
Since starting out in 1999, Antiskeptic has become one of Australia’s most respected rock acts, and has supported and toured with the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Unwritten Law, Millencolin and Midnight Oil, to name a few.
Tiltmeter hit the Melbourne music scene in 1998 and has built an enviable allages following through its energetic live shows. The group has played with bands like Incubus, Grinspoon and 28 Days.
Meanwhile, Healesville act Ash King has been playing guitar for over six years. His band, The Black Spurs, has played a few gigs around the local area, and with a revised line up, is tipped to be a band to watch.
What the Funk is a Healesvillebased group of young people aged 1225 that organises drug, smoke and alcoholfree events for young people in the Yarra Valley.
New members are invited to attend meetings on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5.30pm upstairs at Healesville Memorial Hall.
