Death
IT MUST have been a great shock to almost the whole of Healesville to learn of the sudden death of Dr. F. E. Hutchinson at Hawthorn, where he resided after leaving Healesville.
Dr. Hutchinson’s activities in Healesville brought him into contact with a great number of people and rarely did he fail to make a friend.
Perhaps the greatest monument to his work in Healesville was the Memorial Hall, of which he officially laid the first brick.
Improvements at Queen’s Park
AT A recent meeting between the Parks and Baths Committee of the shire council and the parks committee of the Tourism and Progress Association, it was decided to carry out improvements to the drainage and beautification works at the park.

New tip
Upper Yarra Shire Council will make an effort to find another site for a rubbish tip at Warburton.
Cr. Lloyd said the Scotchman’s Creek area was infested with rats and one of Warburton’s most picturesque beauty spots had been ruined by the unsightly dump.
