YOUNG people in the Yarra Ranges will be entertained with a ‘Bands Mania’ event to be held in Healesville as part of the shire’s National Youth Week celebrations.
The event, featuring a number of exciting local acts will provide young music fans with three hours of non-stop musical entertainment.
Yarra Ranges Cr Jeanette McRae encouraged young people throughout the shire to get behind the ‘Bands Mania’ event, which is being presented by Healesville’s youth events committee ‘What the Funk’ and the shire’s Youth Services.
“This is a great opportunity for young people to see some fantastic local talent, with 4 bands lined up for the night,” Cr McRae said.
“The event will feature headline act San Salvador, along with Suburbia Burns, indigenous hip hop artists Alter Egoz and other amazing acts.”
Cr McRae said Bands Mania was just one of many exciting events being held as part of the shire’s National Youth Week program.
Other events will include a Youth Leadership Forum, the launch of an antenatal resource guide Hey Babe and a musical workshop for young people with disabilities.
“The shire’s Youth Services team has once again organised a fantastic program for young people to celebrate National Youth Week,” Cr McRae said.
“This year’s program will run for three weeks, from April 26, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.”
Bands Mania will be held at the Healesville Memorial Hall on Friday 11 April from 7pm to 10pm. Entry costs $5, and the fully supervised event will be strictly drug, alcohol and smoke free, with no pass outs available.
