THE arrival of Santa in a big red double-decker bus is bound to be a highlight for the littlies of the Giant Christmas Street Party at Yarra Junction on Saturday.
But there’s lots more in store for Upper Yarra residents of all ages who get together to celebrate the festive season as a community.
The Rotary Club of Upper Yarra Valley has organised the day which will run from 9am to 1pm with a section of Yarra Street being closed off for the festivities.
Santa will arrive at 10am and, despite his very heavy workload at this time of the year, has agreed to stay until 1pm.
He will have a free gift for the youngsters and families are welcome to take a photo or video to capture the moment. Free bus rides, a huge musical organ playing Christmas music, a carousel, jumping castle, magician, face painting and other fun and games have been organised. While the children have their fun, the adults can do a bit of Christmas shopping from the gift and Christmas stalls and everyone will be able to enjoy a sausage sizzle.
