THE Yarra Glen and Lilydale Hunt Club played host to members and visitors from across Victoria in a weekend of riding and partying in August.
The fun started on Saturday morning with a drag hunt at Brookhill in Yarra Glen led by Master of Drag Hounds Robbie Cumming and signed off on the Sunday with the Hunter Pace, another day of fantastic riding at YarraView Farm.
In between, the riding gear was swapped for flapper dresses, feathers and pinstripe suits for a Roaring 20s-style Hunt Club Ball on the Saturday night. A highlight of the night was the awarding of the Honour of Livery to Russ Withers and Simon Wincer in recognition of their contribution to the club over many years.
Among many achievements, the gentleman have just recently completed a DVD documentary on the club – A Century of Hunting.
Club administrator Nadine Wood said the weekend was a huge success, which was well supported by Yarra Valley businesses and club members.
