GLEN Valley Produce in Yarra Glen is an industry leader when it comes to service, product knowledge and product range.
The business, which is located on Armstrong Grove in Yarra Glen, right opposite the Yarra Glen Racecourse, has been owned and operated by Shane Nichols for the past seven years.
Mr Nichols said the business and staff, which includes Andrew Davies, Ron Taylor, Sue Cornish and Dion Bender, offers customers more than 70 years of combined experience in the produce industry.
“We are local people who know the area and the business well and we all have first-hand experience with animals and produce needs,” he said.
Mr Nichols trains race horses at Yarra Glen, Mr Davies is a former jockey, Mr Taylor shows welsh mountain ponies and Ms Cornish is an accomplished dressage rider.
Customers benefit from the knowledge and skills the Glen Valley Produce team bring to the business, Mr Nichols said.
“We can advise people on the nutritional needs of all animals, particularly horses, and help with all kinds of farming, racehorse and domestic animal needs,” he said.
In addition to product knowledge, Shane said Glen Valley Produce excels when it comes to customer service.
“We pride ourselves of offering old-fashioned service, despite the fact that business costs have risen,” he said.
“We don’t charge for delivery and we still offer a five per cent discount on all cash and carry, or pick-up and pay purchases.”
Mr Nichols said one of Glen Valley Produce’s other strong points is the loyalty the business has built up with customers over the years.
“Some of our customers have been with the business for 20 to 30 years. People tend to come to us and keep coming back for a long time, and we really appreciate that sort of customer loyalty,” he said.
Glen Valley Produce also earns top marks when it comes to product range.
“We provide the highest quality products at competitive prices and we carry the largest range of produce within a 50 kilometre radius,” he said.
The Glen Valley Produce motto is “if you want it, we’ve got it.”
