Internet gets town connected

Ed Merrison
MARYSVILLE Visitor Information Centre is more connected to its residents and visitors after the introduction of broadband Internet.
Complimentary connection has been provided by Telstra Country Wide as part of a sixmonth sponsorship package for the centre.
Announcing the sponsorship last month, Telstra Country Wide area general manager Donna Barling said the company was pleased to support Marysville and its local businesses.
“We understand tourism is an important part of Marysville and the service will provide staff and visitors with fast and efficient Internet access,” Ms Barling said.
The new service, installed last month, has already proved extremely popular according to tourism development officer for Marysville Sam Hicks.
“It’s been very popular from day one,” she said.
“We’ve had lots of people in over the holidays, locals have come in to look at it and we’ve had comments in the visitors’ book saying how fast it is.”
The Marysville Visitor Information Centre is open daily from 9am5pm at 11 Murchison Street, Marysville.
