Survey set to shape new Seville

By Kath Gannaway
SEVILLE residents are being urged to return survey forms that will help shape the Seville of the future.
The Shire of Yarra Ranges sent out survey forms for the Seville Master Plan three weeks ago.
Yarra Ranges councillor Graham Warren was joined recently by members of the Save the Pool Committee and the master plan consultant for a meet and greet with Seville shoppers to promote the survey and provide information.
The creation of a master plan was one of the actions which came from the Save the Pool Committee.
“It’s really important that people respond to the survey,” Cr Warren said.
“Among a number of questions the survey asks, is what do residents currently use in the town and what would they like to see, as well as questions about the pool.
“Those bits of information are vitally important to us in deciding the future direction of Seville.”
The survey forms have gone out to residents living in Seville and nearby areas including parts of Gruyere, Silvan, Yellingbo and Mt Evelyn.
“If people have not already sent the survey back, we would be saying to them, please send it back as soon as possible so everybody has input into what is a very important process for the Seville district and its residents,” Cr Warren said.
He added that remedial works being carried out on the pool, which was just weeks ago under threat of not opening this summer, are going well.
The project, he said, was on target to open in the first week of December.
