STUDENTS young and old are being invited back to Healesville Primary School for the school’s 140th birthday celebrations.
This weekend the school will mark the anniversary with a special Big Birthday Bash party on Saturday, 18 November.
The all-day and night party, to be held throughout the school grounds, will feature an exciting line-up of attractions and live entertainment.
Among the highlights will be stalls, sausage sizzles, Devonshire teas, face painting, competitions, live music and school memorabilia.
Other attractions include a model railway, circus clowns and a range of martial arts and sporting club demonstrations.
Howard Jones, the school’s principal, said the party would be a chance for the whole community to celebrate the school’s history.
“There will be historical photo displays and exhibitions and people wearing period costumes from the school’s past,” he said.
Another highlight of the event will be the Tall Tales session later in the day.
“We have invited a host of notable and notorious ex-students to come back and tell stories from their lives,” Mr Jones said.
Among the special guests are Brownlow medallist Gordon Collis local businessman Mick Donkin and fellow ex-students Annette Hill and Reg Dennehy.
The Healesville Primary School’s 140th Big Birthday Bash will start at 10am and finish late.
For more information phone the school on 5962 4053.
