Curtain to rise on spooky play

SET in the depths of darkest Transylvania, this year’s theatrical extravaganza by the Healesville High School Players should be the best ever.
Bride of Spatula stars Matt Taite as the wicked Count, Tessa Smith as Igor, Aaron Wilkes and Zac Gardner as the heroic Brothers of St Angus and Danni Hradsky and Hannah Carr as the beautiful Gwendolyn with a huge supporting cast of vampires, monks, lovely ladies, ghosts, skeletons and travelling players.
The actors comprise students from all year levels, a couple of brave teachers, a parent and one wonderful bus driver – you can’t get much more inclusive than that.
It’s a family show: lots of colour and movement, plenty of laughs, a few really scary bits and some fabulous dancing.
The school is calling on everyone to come and support the local children, who have been rehearsing hard for six months.
The Bride of Spatula Revisited will show on Friday, 10 August and Saturday, 11 August from 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall. Cost is $25 for a family of four, $10 for adults and $5 for concession.
Bookings are being taken now at the school office on 5962 4088.
