Good effort by Wesburn

Wesburn Junior Football Club
U10: Wesburn started slowly and did not man up. As a result they found themselves behind in play. However, in the second half Wesburn lifted and started to team well and looked for each other against a spirited Yarra Glen side.
Best: L. Wilcox, B. Hardinge, K. Galea, C. Shalevski.
U12: Yarra Glen 4.2.26 d Wesburn 2.1.13.
Wesburn’s effort continuing to improve. Yarra Glen played the big ground well. Weburn’s tackles did not stick.
Best: D. Kift, B. Jones, D. Bedggood, L. Brown.
U13: Upwey-Tecoma 13.8.86 d Wesburn 2.2.14.
Wesburn had an equal number of possessions but disposal skills were not up to the standard shown by Upwey-Tecoma. However, the attitude is positive.
Goals: J. Coghlan 2.
Best: C. Eales, A. Finch, C. Ladewig, J. Coghlan, T. Eales.
U14: Wesburn 13.4.82 d Yarra Glen 5.5.35.
A good team effort against a spirited opposition who never gave up.
Goals: R. Bedggood 5, J. Cattanach, D. Gruber 2.
Best: J. Walker, H. Jeganathan, J. Juzwin.
U16: Wandin 13.19.97 d Wesburn 7.5.47.
After a good start, Wesburn dropped off the intensity against a more determined and well-drilled Wandin opposition. The team steadied and played more to the game plan in the final term but it was far too late.
Goals: J. Jones 2.
Best: T. Kelly, J. Jones, D. Coghlan, J. Mullan, A. Calder
Healesville Junior Football Club
U10: The young Bloods put together a great performance. Reading the play well and doing that bit extra when tested.
Best: N. Aldridge, J. Parksh-Donkin, J. Moore, T. Matthews, J. Donaldson.
U11: Healesville 2.2.14 d Emerald 1.3.9.
Great team effort. The boys battled well and lifted when asked in the last quarter kicking the winning goal with 10 seconds to go.
Goals: J. McLoud 2.
Best: M. McLoud, M. Jefferys, R. Johnston, J. Larsen, L. Voges.
U12: Woori Yallock 15.11.101 d Healesville 0.1.1.
Healesville were no match for the very physical Woori. Plenty to learn from this game.
Best: B. Clark, D. Lindorff, J. Higgs, N. Chater, R. O’Keefe.
U13: Wandin 3.12.30 d Healesville 4.4.28.
A great improvement on last week and a great first half. Healesville ran out of legs and took their eyes off the ball in the end.
Goals: T. Black 2, C. Wilkes 2
Best: J. Thew, C. Wilde, H. Pottage, T. Larkin, R Voges.
U14: Healesville 14.16.100 d Woori Yallock 0.4.4.
After a slow start Healesville really jelled well with great passages of play and overpowered the opposition. Skills learnt at training are starting to pay off.
Goals: L. Rowe 4, A. Mullins 2.
Best: A. Mullins, S. Donkin, M. Honeybone, M. Warren, L. Rowe.
U16: Healesville 9.8.62 d Woori Yallock 7.6.48.
A hard fought win for Healesville at Queens Park. After a strong and positive start Healesville held the lead for most of the day. Taking a small lead into the laster quarter Healesville were challenged by Woori who got to within a few points. Healesville steadied with two late goals to come away with the win. Ben Black played his best game for the year in the ruck. Aaron Wilkes, Sam Dennett and Wade Ibrahim were also good on the day.
Goals: Vinny Plunket 2.
Best: B. Ryan, S. Dennett, S. Thomas, M. Dunnett, A. Wilkes.
