MARION Stott, Margaret Tull and their team at GymbaROO in Mooroolbark and Croydon Hills certainly enjoy presenting a safe and stimulating environment for children.
The sessions are age-appropriate exercises, for children from six weeks to five years old.
GymbaROO, an Australian-researched program, was launched in 1982 with Mooroolbark and Croydon Hills being the second areas established.
The program is now in its 22nd year. Marion’s daughter Karen was in the very first BabyROO class, and now Margaret is seeing her grandson Devlin joining in the fun.
Marion said the main aim of GymbaROO is to create an awareness among parents and involve them in their child’s development.
The parents receive information sheets and the GymbaROO First Steps magazines featuring articles on the importance of early childhood neurological development to health, behaviour and the learning potential of their child.
Through a different theme each term, the program provides exploratory challenges on specialised equipment circuits, which change from week to week.
There are also structured group activities to music, including massage, exercises, dance, skill development and parachute activities.
With more than 80 centres, GymbaROO has now expanded further internationally with centres recently opening in Hungary, Turkey and Singapore.
“We certainly feel very proud and excited to be part of this expanding educational field for children in their formative years,” Marion said.
“The pure joy of working with the parents and their children by providing a program that nurtures each natural stage of development, is just so rewarding.”
