Vandals wreck cubby

VANDALS demolished a cubby house and ripped shade cloth at Queen’s Park pre-school in Healesville.
The attack leaves the pre-school with a $2500 repair bill.
Queen’s Park committee member Jodie Pryor, whose son Dean attends the kindergarten, has branded it a shameful attack on the community.
Ms Pryor said it appeared the perpetrators climbed over the fence and onto the cubby house and the shade cloth sail.
“The cubby house was just 12 months old and it was flattened to the ground,” she said.
She said community money, including donations from Healesville Lions Club, had paid for the equipment.
“The kids are very disappointed because it was a favourite part of the playground and we are all disappointed, and angry, that we put a lot of effort in to making this a nice place for the kids and someone does this to it.
“It’s very frustrating.”
Healesville police are investigating the incident which happened on the weekend of 19-20 November.
Sergeant Tony Van Gorp said they were keen to hear from anybody with information.
“This disgusting behaviour affects the youngest members of our community,” he said.
“It is a disgraceful attack and will not be tolerated.”
Anyone with information should contact Healesville police on 5962 4422.
