No worries at showroom

HOOGIES of Yarra Glen is the region’s leading timber, trade, hardware and rural supplies specialist.
Established by Frank Hoogenraad more than 30 years ago, Hoogies has recently opened a new rural showroom at the rear of its shop in Bell Street.
The spacious rural showroom features an impressive range of vineyard supplies, fertilisers, herbicides, fungicides, fencing materials, stock feed, and animal health and pet products.
“The rural supplies division of the business has grown rapidly over the past five years,” managing director Frank Hoogenraad said.
“We’ve built the new showroom in response to increased demand and it has liberated space in our existing store to allow us to better show off our range of products.”
Mr Hoogenraad said the best way for customers to access the new showroom was to drive in to the Hoogies site.
“There is plenty of on-site parking and customers can access all aspects of the business from our entry points on Bell Street or King Street,” he said.
“The shop and the showroom might be a bit untidy while we are moving products around, and we apologise for any inconvenience, but it’s all part of the energy of the place.”
Mr Hoogenraad said one of the keys to Hoogies’s continued success over the past three decades has been the store’s friendly, expert staff and the strong relationships they’ve built up with customers.
“We cater for a very broad range of customers and our client base is huge.
“We have over 2000 account customers from a very wide area. We do business as far afield as Pakenham, Mt Macedon, Mornington and Marysville,” he said.
“Our business is very much built on the relationships we have with our customers.
“People find it a very satisfying doing business with us and they won’t go anywhere else. Our company slogan is ‘Hoogies – No Worries’,” he said.
“I am constantly being told by customers that my staff are fantastic.
“They each have expertise in different areas and not only relate to, but often come to anticipate the needs of our customers.”
Mr Hoogenraad said Hoogies prides itself on providing excellence and integrity in business and being heavily involved in the Yarra Valley community.
“I think one of the other reasons for our success over the years has been our willingness to give generously to community groups and projects,” he said.
