Parents take a break

By Melissa Meehan
FOR many working parents finding someone to care for their children during the school holidays is a tough task.
Friends and family are either working themselves or have organised to travel throughout the festive season, leaving many working parents at their wits’ end trying to find suitable care for their loved ones.
Marcia Liew from Happyland Early Learning Centre in Yarra Junction believes she has found the solution.
“Happyland Early Learning Centre is now offering occasional care throughout the holidays for children of all ages,” Ms Liew said.
The centre has now added occasional care to its long list of care facilities including a kinder program and before and after school care.
“Children of all ages are catered for at Happyland. We encourage the children to work on their numeracy and literacy skills and have fun during their time here,” Ms Liew said.
The centre closes for Christmas between 24 December and 7 January but welcomes occasional school holiday care throughout January.
