First birthday for Third Age

HEALESVILLE and District U3A (University of the Third Age) will celebrate a very successful first year with an end of year party on 30 November.
U3A got off to a booming start in April when more than 60 people packed Swinburne TAFE to gauge interest setting up U3A classes in Healesville.
When more than a hundred prospective students signed on for the first term, organisers knew U3A was on its way.
“We’ve been completely blown away by the number of people who’ve turned up to register,” founder of the project Luisa Williams said at the time.
“Its great to see there is so much interest in continuing learning and so much enthusiasm for such a wide range of classes and courses.”
U3A secretary Rosemary Boyd said the end of year function would celebrate the success of the organisation’s first year.
“We would also like to thank the many people and organisations who have helped and supported us which is the main reason for our success,” she said.
“We would love to see as many members there as possible. It should be fun and it will be a great opportunity to thank everyone.”
Members who have not received an invitation are asked to call in at Healesville TAFE and collect one.
