Historic award

A HISTORIC Marysville guest house has been honoured with a major Victorian tourism and hospitality industry award.
Marylands Country House, a 4.5star guest house set on six acres of gardens in the heart of Marysville, was honoured with the Major Deluxe Accommodation award last week.
The award was given out as part of the Victorian Hotel Motel and Accommodation Association (HMAA) and AAA Tourism Victorian Accommodation Industry Awards for Excellence.
More than 200 prominent figures in the Australian tourism and hospitality industry, including Federal Minister for Tourism Fran Bailey, attended an award ceremony held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino last Wednesday.
Marylands Country House general manager Damien Jacobs said staff at the guest house were delighted to receive the honour.
“The award is fantastic for Marylands, especially when you look at the competition we were up against from across the rest of the state,” Mr Jacobs said.
