A SITE has been purchased and plans are being prepared for the new Yarra Junction police station.
The highway location next to the new Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall will ensure a visible police presence on the Warburton Highway.
Sergeant Kevin Largue said he and the “troops” were happy with the location and looking forward to seeing proposed designs.
“The new station will accommodate the current sergeant and five officers and, hopefully, will be built with a bit of expansion in mind,” Sgt Largue said.
“Certainly no great increase in numbers is foreseen,” he added, circumventing any possible interpretation that more police were earmarked for the Warburton Highway.
