THE residents at the Holmwood Aged Care Facility in Healesville got into the groove recently, when they took part in a gentle dancing class provided by U3A.
The Count Us In classes have been funded by the Department of Human Services and aim to help residents (initially of Monda Lodge and Holmwood Aged Care Facility) to access and participate in programs run by Healesville U3A.
U3A project worker Sue Malta said they had received a lot of positive feedback about the program.
“The gentle dancing at Holmwood is a terrific success, with the U3A members, residents and staff all joining in,” Ms Malta said.
“The classes are a truly joyful occasion and a peep in the recreation room reveals residents and staff practicing as often as they can.”
Other U3A classes being held at Holmwood include wool works, bingo, carpet bowls and men’s morning and drawing.
