THE Healesville Lions presented the Healesville Hospital Palliative Care ward with a comfortable donation last week.
President of the club Alex Brown said that the money raised by the Lion’s Den Op Shop was given to the hospital in memory of member Ethel Lalor who died in the hospital earlier this year.
“We wanted to be able to give something to the Palliative Care unit in memory of Ethel,” Mr Brown said.
“The hospital said that a couch in the room would be a great idea because it would allow loved ones of people staying in Palliative Care to stay at the hospital overnight.”
ANUM nurse Robyn Jasper said that the hospital was very thankful to receive the funds for the couch.
“We really appreciate it and the couch has already been used quite a bit,” Ms Jasper said.
