FRESH cold water was one of the big sellers at the Healesville Primary School Fete on Saturday.
As Healesville got a spring taste of the summer temperatures to come, huge crowds turned out to support the school’s annual fundraiser.
There was plenty to see and do with each class hosting an activity including bubble blowing and face painting and loads of stalls – who doesn’t need another white elephant, or Christmas decorations?
Long queues for the go-cart and giant slide tested the staying power of even the keenest kids, but for those who waited it out, the thrill was worth the wait.
The fete offered a chance for a number of community groups to raise funds, or awareness. Healesville Rotary teamed sizzling sausages with cold drinks and did a roaring trade, the Lions Club ran a raffle to boost their campaign in support of the Life Education Van, and Healesville Pony Club’s members were kept on their feet with pony rides a predictable favourite with the littlies.
Assistant principal Rod Hysted said the fete it was fantastic to see so much support not only from the school community but from the wider Healesville community.
