When a fair day turns out to be fantastic …

By Kath Gannaway
STORM clouds hovered on Sunday but held off, much to the relief of organisers of the Little Yarra Steiner School’s annual Fair and Open Day.
There was huge disappointment last year when the fair was cancelled because of dangerous storms which lashed the area. But with the car park attendants kept busy from very early in the day, LYSS business manager Jim Taylor declared this year’s fair a great success.
“We’ve had more people come through than ever before,” he said … and it was only lunchtime!
There was plenty for the record crowd to see and do with an extensive market place, wonderful entertainment by the music students, lots of free hands-on activities and games for the children, delicious food and drink and a happy, carefree festival atmosphere.
Mr Taylor said the aim of the day was to give people an opportunity to get to know the school with classrooms open and teachers available throughout the day.
The school provides Steiner education from kindergarten level through to Year 12.
