WELL, the much-needed rain has finally arrived but it played havoc with sport on the weekend and Round 6 of the YVCA senior competition was not spared.
The senior cricket was called off for the day which means that the round will become a one day game on Saturday, 29 November with the 40 over a side matches commencing at 1pm.
In Round 6 second on the ladder Yarra Junction travel to Mt Evelyn who are third. This should prove to be a great match particularly in the one day format as both sides have some hard-hitting batting power with the Jones boys.
Woori Yallock hosts Hoddles Creek and these two sides are just a few points apart and just outside the four. The home side would be favoured to win but I would not lay a large amount on them as Hoddles Creek are very able to upset most teams.
The same story applies to the Wandin vs Silvan match at Wandin.
Top side Healesville host old rivals Warburton, Seville will be visited by Gruyere and these teams too are just a few points apart but near the lower end of the ladder, while Coldstream are still looking for their first win. They will have about a 50/50 chance in this round when they play at home to Launching Place United.
We hope for better cricket weather next weekend not only for our local cricket but for all the representative matches that will be on around the place too.
