BANG Productions will be looking to increase production of its pictorial calendar in 2009 after bumper sales this year.
Healesville High School’s “Bang Productions’’ team has printed the calendar for six years and its success has more than exceeded expectations. This year’s calendar was launched on 7 November and already is almost sold out.
“In ’06 we had some left, last year maybe 10 left and this year we are already almost sold out,’’ teacher Gabby Plunkett said.
The calendar project is run as a business with the help of the Rotary Club of Healesville and strong community support.
“The skills the students take away are everything from learning to be flexible and responsible to public speaking and decision making.’’ Ms Plunkett said. “They gain an insight into what it is really like to run a business from the setting up to sales and production, selling advertising and organising a launch.’’.
The 2008 Year 10 team is the youngest to have produced the calendar. “It a particularly challenging and the kids and the team have done fantastically well to succeed against some very challenging situations,’’ Ms Plunkett said.
The calendar has become a sought-after souvenir for overseas visitors, and a popular Christmas gift to send overseas.
Very limited supplies are available from the High School on 5962 4088.
