ORGANISERS of the Mountain District Car and Bike Show overcame a late venue change and threatening weather to stage a fourth successful show on Sunday 11 April.
About 350 vehicles ranging from hot rods to classic, custom and vintage cars and bikes to utes and limousines transformed the Healesville Showgrounds into chrome heaven for the estimated 3000 enthusiasts and the general public.
Live bands and children’s rides added to the fantastic atmosphere which joint organiser Jacqueline Shepherd said was a highlight of the day.
“There was a great feel to the event – just people turning up with their cars and the public supporting it, the music – all made for a great event,” Ms Shepherd said.
The proceeds of the show will go to the Healesville and Angliss hospitals, Healesville High School, Monbulk’s Car26 program, and to purchase a medical mattress for a child with brittle bone disease.
Ms Shepherd said 27 March had been earmarked for a fifth event in 2011 but it was dependent on getting public support and backing.
