Tyre prices get let down

WET weather and dodgy tyres are a bad mix according to Mick Smith of Yarra Glen Auto Repairs.
“It’s a major concern and, along with things like brakes and windscreen wipers, tyres are a major focus of any winter service we do,” said Mick who is also offering a range of special prices for tyres to suit Holdens and Falcons during May and June.
Mick has been based in Armstrong Grove, opposite the racecourse, for the past 18 years and, along with locals Frank Sinclair and Alister Handasyde, provides a broad range of automotive services.
Between them Mick, Frank and Alister have almost 70 years of automotive experience ensuring the business is well placed to take care of the mechanical needs of Yarra Glen and district residents.
Those services include general mechanical repairs, brakes, tyres and wheel alignments, exhaust systems, gas tuning and basic electrical work.
They also work on caravans, trailers and horse floats – of which there are plenty around the district.
Mick said having the latest equipment, experience at working on several generations of cars and a conscientious, honest approach to the job has ensured a loyal and growing customer base over the years. “Our aim is to do a quality job at a competitive price,” he said.
“We try to retain a lot of the mother, father, daughter, son type of business and a lot of our work comes from word of mouth recommendations.”
Now is the time to talk with Mick about a full winter service and to check out the tyre specials.
Yarra Glen Auto Repairs operates from 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday and offers and pick-up and delivery service.
Phone Mick on 9730 1844, or call in at Factory 4, 1 Armstrong Grove in Yarra Glen.
