HEALESVILLE sports enthusiasts Josh Ogilvie and Rick Liston are calling for local support while they race through China.
The boys teamed up for China Rush, the Chinese version of The Amazing Race, and, despite being sworn to secrecy around filming, Josh was able to tell his mum they were still in the race.
But the boys are lagging behind in support from back home.
They left for Shanghai at last minute’s notice on 28 April to follow a bunch of clues through 12 cities across China in five weeks, finishing on 3 June.
Michelle Ogilvie said her son Josh was able to jump onto the internet to wish her a happy Mother’s Day.
“He let us know that they were half-way through the race and still in the competition, loving every minute of it,” Mrs Ogilvie said.
Josh was also able to look at the China Rush website only to discover they were on the bottom of the voting list. Mrs Ogilvie said the boys are asking for the help of their local community to vote for them online, and give them a chance to win.
“We don’t know the end of this amusing and adventurous expedition yet,” she said.
“But if we can get them the votes, there’s more chance we’ll see it shown on TV here.”
Readers who would like to support the boys can vote for them at www.chinarush .tv.
