UPWEY may have won the game but they were by no means convincing against Warburton.
Warburton had plenty of opportunities to cause an upset but they just couldn’t put the ball through the big sticks. At half time scores were level, but it was Warburton that should have had the lead kicking 6.10 to Upwey’s 7.4. Warburton continued their inaccuracy in the second half booting 3.9 while Upwey was more efficient with 5.5. Upwey’s straight kicking was enough to get them home by eight points. Best- Upwey Tecoma: Kyle Grenda, Lucas Matthews and Timothy Hansen. Warburton Millgrove: Kurt Henderson, Grant Newing and Michael Walker.
Upwey Tecoma 12.9(81) defeated Warburton Millgrove 9.19(73).

IT looks as though Silvan will finish the season with the wooden spoon after Wandin dealt them a 28 point defeat. Silvan got off to a good start and had a 19 point lead at the first change. Wandin hit back in the second quarter booting 5.6 and held Silvan to just one behind to turn a 19 point deficit into a 17 point lead at the half.

DIVISION TWO
POWELLTOWN pulled off a magnificent win after facing a 27 point deficit at three quarter time. Emerald seemed to have all the answers in the first three quarters playing through Matthew Cox who had an extraordinary day booting nine of his team’s 10 goals. Playing at home, Emerald looked to be in control. Powelltown had to win to keep an outside chance of playing in the finals alive.

Belgrave 10.10(70) defeated Alexandra 8.5(53).

AT quarter time it looked as though an easy win was on the cards as Seville led Yea 38 points to four. Seville may never have been in danger of dropping this game, but to Yea’s credit they didn’t let their more fancied opponents have it all their own way. Yea produced some good football in the last three quarters to outscore their opponents. Seville now sits two games clear in second spot and look to have sewn up a double chance come finals.
Best- Seville: Brent Pereira, Matt Adams and Mark Holly.
Seville 15.19(109) defeated Yea 11.13(79).
