Cave To The Rave takes audiences from the earthen floor of prehistoric man to the polished parquetry of modern dance, with a few side steps and knee slides along the way.
It’s a comedy dance class for beginners, intermediate and advanced delivered by Callinan, described by The Age as “one of Australia’s best performers.”
Expect by the end of the session to have learnt it’s not a good idea to crowd surf at a Wiggles concert; to understand why women dance in a circle around their handbags and to discover that asking someone to dance in a lift is awkward – even if there is music playing.
Callinan’s highly choreographed tributes, suspiciously funded fringe movement ensembles and 80s film clips, has had audiences laughing all the way to the dance floor. He’s quick-stepped his way to Healesville from Werribee via Upwey, Horsham, Wangaratta, Bright, Buchan and other regional centres.
The Cave To The Rave is on at Healesville Memorial Hall on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are $24 or $20 concession. Book on 5965 3528.
