Seville Primary School is gearing up to present its first community picnic with events and attractions for everybody.
One of those is the slime chair, where every hour, on the hour, prominent community figures will be slimed.
Principal Pat Hillas said he was happy to “cop a sliming” for the school’s benefit.
“I am sure lots of my students and many of their parents could think of nothing better than seeing me slimed, but I take a little comfort knowing that our school council president will share in this fate as well,” he said.
Mr Hillas said the school has invited community members to run stalls during the day, with the students and their teachers running their own stalls.
“We want to have a fun event that everyone will enjoy with the end result being a closer relationship between our school and our local community,” he said.
The fair will coincide with the State Election on 27 November and the school will begin early with a bacon and egg, sausage and bread barbecue from 7am.
The kids can stay amused with a jumping castle, face painting, balloons, train rides and showbags, while the adults can pick up a bargain at an array of stalls including homewares, jewellery and plants, as well as second-hand books and toys.
Yarra Valley FM will be broadcasting from the school grounds.
Mr Hillas said Pace Motors had donated $1500 worth of prizes to be won on the day, as well as providing the school with two sun shelters.
“Robert Pace has always been a very committed supporter of our school and we value his contribution to our school enormously,” he said.
So get down the Seville Primary School on Saturday 27 November, whether to vote or just have a good time.
