MACCLESFIELD Pony Club stages its annual members challenge every November.
Several awards, including the Stan Cordell Trophy, the President’s Trophy, the Eric Harding Trophy and the Junior Horsemastership Trophy, are presented.
The Stan Cordell Trophy was established as a senior event in the memory of our late District Commissioner (1965-1968).
The President’s Trophy was planned by the president as a junior event leading up to the senior competition. The Eric Harding Trophy was introduced in 1977 in recognition of the work, interest and support by the Harding family since the inception of the club.
The Junior Horsemastership Trophy was introduced in 1990 and donated by the junior committee. It is intended to encourage the club’s younger members.
This year’s Challenge was held on 14 November, with riders taking part in four different phases: dressage, showjumping, handymount and show ring. Scores in each phase were accumulated for overall age group awards.
