WARBURTON RSL has been the lucky recipient of $1000.
An in-store promotion called $100,000 Reasons Why the Locals Like It by Ritchies IGA stores and Arnott’s Biscuits has netted the group a much-needed $1000 donation.
Customers who purchased any two Arnott’s Biscuit products at Ritchies IGA could then enter a draw to have $1000 donated to their favourite charity.
Warburton RSL sub-branch secretary Dennis Reeves said one of the lucky winners chose Warburton RSL.
“We wish to thank that customer in their belief that we are worthy of such support,” he said.
“As a small traditional sub branch this generous donation will assist us in our objective of looking after the RSL veterans and non-member Veterans in the community as the need arises.”
Mr Reeves said he had a nice surprise last Thursday 2 December when he checked the RSL mail and discovered the donation.
“This doesn’t happen every day,” he said.
“Thank you once again. We also thank the local community for their wonderful support throughout this year and wish them a merry Christmas and safe New Year.”
Warby RSL’s grand luck
