More than 142 Victorian communities will have an ambassador attend celebrations and talk about what being Australian means to them. Sally is one such person with a zest for life.
The 34-year-old mother said it had been a challenge to balance her career, community and charity work, alongside two-year-old son Jack – but it was worth every minute.
“I love stepping up to the plate and achieving these things … and it’s very humbling to stand in front of a crowd and talk about it,” she said.
Sally has been with the ambassadors program for four years – after radio station 3AW nominated her for her marketing work. She knows how to pack a lot into life.
She is passionate in heath and wellbeing and has been a personal trainer for many high profile Australian and international personalities, as well as having careers in hospitality, marketing and consulting. Sally will soon complete a real estate agents course.
These careers have led her from working at Government House in Victoria, the Melbourne Fashion Festival, the Australian Grand Prix, the Spring Racing Carnival, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and in the David Jones Food Hall and the Georges Food Store.
Although Sally lives in Camberwell, she spends a lot of her time in the Yarra Valley.
“I preferenced the Yarra Valley because I know the area well,” she said.
“I’ve have been involved with the Chirnside Park Heritage Golf and Country Club, Yering Station and sculpture exhibition and Rochford’s Day on the Green.”
Sally said she was proud to be an ambassador, and is fascinated by what Australia will look like in 20 years.
Sally will attend the Wandin North Rotary breakfast at 7am for Australia Day tomorrow, before joining in shire celebrations.
