JULIE Robinson, owner of Four Seasons Horse Rugs has no hesitation in guaranteeing her product.
“All the rugs are cut, stitched and finished by me, so if there is ever something wrong, it’s down to me … I stand by my product,” said Julie who started with the company as a 15-year-old, and learned the trade over many years.
Two years ago, with more than 20 years’ experience behind her, she bought the Yarra Junction-based business.
Julie has been around horses all her life and prides herself on producing a quality rug.
She makes a wide range of rugs for horses, including canvas rugs, saddle blankets, show and dressage rugs, showerproof, woolen and cotton rugs, as well as repairing rugs.
“We usually recommend people try the stock-standard sizes first and if someone does have a horse that requires a specialist fitting, we are very happy to do that too,” Julie said.
Four seasons has rugs in stock from two feet nine inches to six feet nine inches.
Julie’s stock in trade is her skill and pride in producing a quality rug that will fit and last the distance.
“I haven’t had much time to play with horses, but I was born and bred around them and my knowledge is all in the making of the rugs and the skill I have built up over such a long time,” she said.
With years of experience in both making and repairing, Julie said she was able to identify faults in both her own and rugs made by other manufacturers, and fix the problems.
At Four Seasons Horse Rugs horse-owners can not only get quality, hand-made rugs but accessories such as saddlery items, lunge leads, hand-made exercise boots, fly veils and lead ropes.
Julie also makes a range of dog coats!
Why not co-ordinate your two favourite four-legged friends with matching coats for winter?
Four Seasons Horse Rugs offer quality at a competitive price and the personal service that comes with a smaller, owner-operated business.
“We have always been a backyard business, never sold on Ebay or to other outlets, and believe that’s the way to run a small but good, quality business that can confidently stand by what we make and sell,” Julie said.
If you have a horse you won’t do better than to call Julie at Four Seasons Horse Rugs on 5967 2880, or call in at 34 Riversdale Road, Yarra Junction, to see the great range of quality products on offer.
