DESPITE a wet end to the month, rainfall in Healesville was down from previous years recording 85.4mm over 21 days of the month compared with 99.3mm in April 2010.
But rainfall in the Upper Yarra was above average with both Warburton and Millgrove rainfall reporters listing solid numbers.
Keith Thomas, from Warburton, said April was a goodmonth for rain in Warburton with us just exceeding our average again.
“We received 108.5mm., while our average is 105.1mm,” he said.
“In three of the four months of 2011, we have exceeded our average and in March we equalled it.”
He said this was a great lift from April 2010 when they held only 33.5 per cent.
Doug Armstrong, in Millgrove, recorded 145 mm over nine days compared to 78mm over 10 days last year.
With a wet winter expected, rainfall in the area is expected to continue exceeding average measurements.
