Young voices under Visnja

By Mara Pattison-Sowden
CHOIR teacher Visnja Prtenjava has moved back to Warburton and started up singing workshops for eight to 12-year-olds.
She has returned from a year in Adelaide to a region she missed, looking forward to teaching children in the Yarra Valley again.
“I am really excited to be able to help children reach their full potential through these workshops,” she said.
“There is something special about working with children here, among the beauty of nature, and in the beautiful Mechanics Hall.”
Participants will have the opportunity to sing solos, refine their individual technique, and be a part of a fun team.
Visnja hopes the choir, Young Warburton Voices, will be able to perform in local events, such as the art markets at the Warburton Mechanics Hall. Visnja’s workshops in term two will be on Tuesdays from 4 to 5pm at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre in Warburton.
For more information about the workshops, contact the Upper Yarra Arts Centre on 5966 4500 or email uyac@yarraranges.vic.gov.au
