INDIVIDUALS and organisations across the Yarra Valley heated the pot and poured a cuppa for cancer last week.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is traditionally held on Thursday 26 May, but many are held throughout May and June.
Funds raised from Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea help the Cancer Council to continue work in cancer research, prevention, education and support services. Lisa Taylor organised a morning tea for Le Pine in Healesville, where more than 35 people sipped and slurped their tea with all kinds of sweet delights.
Regional manager Ashley Crow said although Le Pine had been supporting the fundraiser nationally, it was the first time they had held one in Healesville.
“We see a lot of the results from cancer so this is just a way to help,” he said. Other places around the valley holding biggest morning teas included Amanda’s Café in Yarra Junction and Payne’s Rise in Seville.
Wesburn Primary School will hold its biggest morning tea at 10.30am on 1 June.
