YARRA Ranges Youth Services is calling for musicians aged between 12 to 25 to be part of this year’s Battle of the Bands competition.
Heats will be held in locations including Coldstream and Yarra Glen, with the grand final being held in Mooroolbark on 19 August.
Youth Services acting executive officer Loren Hedger said Battle of the Bands was a great chance for young people to get together and support local artists.
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to showcase your band and support live and local music in your area,” she said.
Last year’s winners Upwey alternative rock band Condemned Sovereign won recording studio time as well as going on to play at the regional finals of the state-wide competition. The band has released an EP and played all over Melbourne since winning.
Applications close at the end of May. Contact Youth services for more information on 92146796 or email Sean Daly at s.daly@yarraranges.vic.gov.au
