Bard given the complete works

SMASHING together Shakespeare’s plays becomes a fast-paced, hilarious and eye opening experience.
A combination of Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, Hamlet and more makes Statespeare, a new drama at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre.
For one night only comes the story of a group of Year 12 students who ask the question – Is Shakespeare still relevant?
As the students discuss, debate and rehearse their assignment, not only do they find themselves unravelling a few school yard rumours, but they become swept up in some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays…proving that Mr Will definitely still knows how to shake 400 years on. Adults are warned the play contains low level, infrequent language, mild adult themes and subtle sexual references.
Statespeare will feature at Warburton’s arts centre on Saturday 25 June at 7pm.
Tickets are $24 for adults, $20 concession and can be booked on 5966 4500.
