ADVENTCARE Yarra Ranges is a private care facility that residents call “home”.
Located in picturesque Warburton, it provides holistic, resident focused aged care services.
It is a 51 bed low care facility located on the banks of the Yarra River overlooking the Yarra Ranges.
Built in the 1970s, it is owned and operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, keeping with the principles and values of the church.
What makes the facility more special is the caring staff and the home like environment.
Diversional Therapist Wendy Toohey said AdventCare Yarra Ranges was a community within a community.
“The staff to resident ratio is not ruled by government, it is based on the care needs of the residents,” she said.
“The facility is personal and private and so is the residents’ lifestyle.”
Long-term resident Keith Johanson helped build the facility for the older generation of his time, and now lives in it.
“I found no difficulty to adjust because of the attitude of the staff, they cannot do enough for you,” the 92-year-old said.
“The nurses really put on their attitude they love their work, and anyone from anywhere would feel at home from the first day.”
Mr Johanson said he enjoys sitting outside with the beautiful scenery, and when the weather is cold, he sits inside where the floor heater keeps everyone’s toes warm.
Residents have the choice of many activities organised on a weekly basis.
There is always something happening, whether it is shopping trips, excursions to places of interest or clubs.
Other resident-focused activities include a facility bus that takes residents out on regular trips and individualised care planning.
Meals and laundry are done on site, therefore a resident really gets the home-like treatment at AdventCare Yarra Ranges. AdventCare Yarra Ranges at Warburton is an exceptional standard of care facility and we invite you to inspect the friendly and relaxed atmosphere enjoyed by our residents.
