WITH two first-division wins in a month, Healesville TattsLotto agent Graeme Williams says he is going for the hat-trick.
A Healesville woman won a first-division prize of $381,000 on 4 June, and on 2 July a Healesville couple pulled of a $595,000 major prize. Both were quick-pick entries purchased from Mr Williams at Sanctuary Lotto – and all winners have chosen to remain anonymous.
Mr Williams said he was in shock when Tatts rang on Monday morning.
“All I could think of is ‘oh my gosh … we’re running hot with first divisions’,” he said, adding that with three major prizes since he bought the agency seven years ago, his aim now is to go for a hat-trick – three majors in 2011. Tatts spokesperson Louise Azzopardi said the couple were overcome with emotion when Tatts confirmed their win.
“They said the windfall couldn’t have come at a better time,” she said, revealing that the couple had just started a new venture after quitting their jobs and were working with limited resources.
She said the couple said they enjoyed the simple in things in life and one of the first things on the shopping list was a new pair of tracksuit pants for the wife.
Mr Williams was celebrating last week as word of his lucky lotto spread.
“It’s just wonderful that another local has won and we are all hoping we can add another win and make it a hat-trick for 2011,” he said.
